About Kennedy Williams

With the cost of a transplant often exceeding $500,000, many transplant families are unable to shoulder the financial burden of such a procedure.  The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-related expenses.  In Rome, volunteers are raising funds for COTA in honor of transplant patients like local teen, Kennedy Williams.

Kennedy is the daughter of Frederick and Pamela Williams.  Born on May 29, 1998, Kennedy was diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Disease.  The doctors at Egleston Children’s Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, have recommended a life-saving kidney transplant. An estimated $50,000 is being raised by Rome volunteers.

How You Can Help

If you could help make a miracle, would you?

The question is as simple as that.  If your answer is ‘yes', I invite you to join the nearly 100,000 volunteers and contributors who during the past two decades generously donated their time and money to the Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA).  These volunteers and financial supporters are COTA's Miracle Makers -- a group of committed individuals who are helping give children across the country a second chance at life.

COTA is a national non-profit organization that helps children and young adults who need or have had a life-saving transplant by raising funds to pay transplant-related expenses.  Transplant families look to COTA for assistance and support, for hope
and miracles.

Since 1986, COTA has helped thousands of patients raise millions of dollars for transplant-related expenses.  COTA is a 501(c)3 organization; therefore donations to COTA are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.  COTA is the premier national organization helping families with transplant-needy children and young adults.  100% of all funds raised are used for transplant-related expenses.  COTA does not charge a fee or take a percentage of the funds raised.

Rome, Georgia -- With the cost of a transplant often exceeding $500,000, many transplant families are unable to shoulder the financial burden of such a procedure.  The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-related expenses.  In Rome, volunteers are raising funds for COTA in honor of transplant patients like local teen, Kennedy Williams.

Volunteers are needed to assist with fundraising activities that will help with transplant-related expenses.  Individuals and groups interested in more information can contact Community Coordinator Jackie Jenkins at 706.204.6112 or jgj46@aol.com.  Media representatives may contact the campaign Public Relations Coordinator Patrick Graney at 706.676.5077 or pgraney@rcs.rome.ga.us for more information about the family or the COTA community fundraising campaign.

Donations may be mailed to the Children’s Organ Transplant Association, 2501 West COTA Drive, Bloomington, Indiana, 47403.  Checks or money orders should be made payable to COTA, with “In Honor of Kennedy W” written on the memo line of the check.  Secure credit card donations are also accepted online at www.COTAforKennedyW.com

Kennedy’s family has asked for assistance from the Children’s Organ Transplant Association.  The organization’s priority is to assure that no child or young adult is denied a transplant or excluded from a transplant waiting list due to lack of funds.  One hundred percent of all funds raised are used for patients’ transplant-related expenses.
